Work in this order: read the visible error, check **Home > Needs you**, check **Integrations**, then open the Chat result card, Task Run or Settings diagnostic. A model reply alone never proves a tool ran. ## Chat | Symptom | Check and fix | | ----------------------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | "No AI provider connected" and no composer | Add a connector and key in **Settings > Connectors**; use **Open Connectors** | | Connector present but requests are denied | Approve the provider connector in Connector Approval; then check the key and rate limits | | "Activate your license" or "Your license expired" card | Activate or renew from the card. History and Undo keep working. | | Assistant says it cannot do something | Look for an **Allow X in this chat** or **Use X in this chat** card. If none, the tool may not exist or may be behind Settings > Advanced. See [Tools and permissions](/documentation/reference-and-help/tools-and-permissions.md). | | Assistant cannot find a product or page by name | Fixed in 1.3.0: name searches cover all public content types. Give the exact title. | | Raw markup or odd symbols in replies after an update | Hard-refresh the browser (Shift + reload) to load the new scripts | | A turn stops partway | It hit its step limit. Say "continue" or split the request. | | "Best quality option can't read images" for a current model | Fixed in 1.3.0 for GPT-5, GPT-6 and Gemini 3 models | ## Images | Symptom | Check and fix | | -------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | None of your providers can make images | Connect an image-capable provider | | Timeout | Each image has up to 150 seconds; ask for fewer at once | | "returned a drawing (SVG)" | Connect a photo model; the named model only draws | | "SVG file could not be sanitized" on a photo | Update to 1.3.0 (Kirki upload check). Then see **Settings > AI Models > Last image problem > Technical detail** | See [Generate images](/documentation/workflows/generate-images.md). ## Tasks and schedules | Symptom | Check and fix | | ---------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | A Task has proposals but nothing changed | Preview is on purpose: select rows and **Apply selected** | | Proposals cannot be applied | They expired after 14 days, or the run needs a fresh backup (**Back up and continue**) | | A scheduled Task did not run | Pause all scheduled runs, monthly token limit, license, missing integration, WP-Cron on a quiet site | | Find and replace missed pages | It scans up to 500 posts per run (100 by default). Narrow the scope or run again. | | A Playbook says **Needs X** | Open Integrations and fix the named dependency | ## Pages, builders and forms | Symptom | Check and fix | | ---------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | An Elementor action is unavailable | Elementor active, the page is an Elementor document, the tool is on | | A builder card says **Read only** | Inspect with Chat; edit layout in the native builder | | A generated page is not visible | It is a draft. Open the preview link on the result card. | | Editor did not show the AI change | You had unsaved edits. Choose **Reload and discard my edits**, or keep yours. | | No form was created | No supported form plugin is active | | A write is refused | Protected page, role, editor lock, tool toggle or Advanced gate | ## Undo and backups | Symptom | Check and fix | | ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | | Undo warns the target changed | Newer edits exist. **Roll back anyway** loses them. | | "Change partially rolled back" | The before-image was capped; check the item by hand | | Backup says pending | Wait for UpdraftPlus to confirm; the database download is separate | | Backup will not start | Gzip missing, uploads not writable, or not enough disk space | | Restore button missing | The archive is not restorable in the plugin (older, another site, changed). Download it for manual recovery. | ## External MCP 401 on initialize usually means the Authorization header was stripped. OAuth discovery can be blocked by a CDN or WAF. See [External MCP connections](/documentation/reference-and-help/external-mcp.md). ## Reporting a problem Include: WP AI Manager version (Settings > Help and changelog), WordPress and PHP versions, active builder and integrations, the exact error, the Conversation or Task Run ID, and whether a read-only request works. For image problems, include **Last image problem > Technical detail**. Remove API keys, Application Passwords and personal data first.
