# WP AI Manager documentation

Install WP AI Manager, connect an AI provider, run safe workflows and manage your WordPress site from one admin workspace.

WP AI Manager is an AI agent that runs inside your WordPress admin. You describe a job in **AI Chat**, start a ready-made **Playbook**, or schedule a **Task**. The assistant reads your site through the same tools the admin screens use, shows you what it found or proposes, asks before risky changes, and records each write in **History** so supported changes can be undone.

{% hint style="info" %}
These pages describe **WP AI Manager 1.3.0** (released 20 October 2026). It needs WordPress 7.0 or newer (tested to 7.1) and PHP 8.1 or newer. See the [Changelog](https://docs.3techagency.com/changelog/) for what changed in each version.
{% endhint %}

WP AI Manager is **one premium plugin**. There is no separate Pro add-on. Third-party plugins, such as Elementor, WooCommerce, an SEO plugin or a form plugin, are needed only for the workflows that use them. Your AI provider account is separate from your WP AI Manager license.

## Get started in three steps

{% step %}

### Install and activate

Check requirements, install the ZIP and activate your license. See [Install and activate](/documentation/start-here/install-and-activate.md).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Connect an AI provider

Add a WordPress AI Connector and its API key under **Settings > Connectors**. See [Connect AI and choose models](/documentation/start-here/connect-ai-and-choose-models.md).
{% endstep %}

### Run a safe first workflow

Start with the read-only **Site health check**, then try a draft. See [Run your first workflow](/documentation/start-here/run-your-first-workflow.md).

## Rules that apply everywhere

* **A reply is not a change.** Trust a successful tool-result card, a preview link, a Task Run outcome or a History entry. If the assistant says it did something and there is no result card, nothing was written.
* **Risky writes ask first.** Single, reversible edits can run straight away. Deletes, bulk changes, code, file, database and user writes show an approval card.
* **Undo covers what WP AI Manager recorded.** Changes made by other plugins, by external services or outside the plugin may not have an Undo.
* **Built-in backups are database-only.** Keep a separate full-site backup before broad changes.
* **AI use costs money at your provider.** WP AI Manager does not include provider credits.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.3techagency.com/documentation/welcome.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
