# WP AI Manager Changelog

What changed in each WP AI Manager release.

Release notes for WP AI Manager. The current version is **1.3.0**. Updates are delivered through your licensed WP AI Manager account. Inside the plugin, **Settings > Help and changelog** shows the notes for the version installed on your site.

{% hint style="info" %}
After updating, hard-refresh the WordPress admin (Shift + reload) so your browser loads the new scripts, and restart any external MCP client that runs over WP-CLI.

## WP AI Manager 1.3.0

Image generation, per-chat tool permissions, an assistant inside the editors, and safer backups and restores.

**New**

* **Generate images** with your connected AI provider. Photo models are tried first, a model that returns a drawing is skipped, and the first image can become a post's featured image or a product's image and gallery, with Undo. [Guide](https://docs.3techagency.com/documentation/workflows/generate-images)
* **Allow a tool in this chat.** When the assistant needs a tool that is switched off, a card turns it on for that conversation only. Site-wide tool settings are never changed from a chat.
* **AI assistant panel** inside the block editor and Elementor, a **What the AI knows** drawer beside Chat, and Playbooks in the **WordPress command palette** (Cmd+K / Ctrl+K). New chat moves to Cmd+Shift+K.
* **Home** shows recent changes with where they came from (via Chat or via Task) and an Undo, next to recent chats and task runs.
* **Backups** are kept by count (Settings > Advanced > Backups to keep, default 5) as well as age. A restore keeps Task history and blocks visitor writes while it runs.
* **Settings > AI Models** lists your image models in the order they are tried, and the last image problem with its technical detail.

**Fixed**

* Real photos were rejected as "SVG file could not be sanitized" on sites running Kirki, whose upload check treats any file containing `<svg` in its bytes as an SVG.
* A product, page or custom post could not be found by name. A search now covers every public content type, with an exact-title option.
* GPT-5, GPT-6 and Gemini 3 models, including the default Best quality model, were treated as unable to read images.
* Image requests timed out at WordPress's 30-second AI limit. Each image is now its own request with a longer timeout.
* Uploads now pass WordPress the full file record, which removes upload warnings from other plugins.
* The assistant no longer answers "it will fail" from earlier errors in a chat; it tries the tool again when asked.
* Tool search no longer offers unrelated tools because they share a single word with the request.

**Changed**

* The Cancel button beside Send shows an X.
* Faster and Best quality now pick different models per provider when none is chosen in Settings.

  {% endupdates %}

<summary>Security, data-safety and reliability fixes in 1.0.0</summary>

**Security**

* A chat user can no longer grant itself tools: browser-supplied context is whitelisted, and every tool list passes one policy check that the executor repeats.
* Tool search can no longer reintroduce a switched-off or advanced tool.
* **Allow AI-written code** now actually gates the PHP snippet tools.
* Roles are enforced: approving and running Tasks need their own capabilities, and shipped defaults are administrator-only.
* Draft Sandbox fork, publish and discard check the specific post and the editor lock.
* New **Protected pages**: cart, checkout, my-account and privacy policy, plus any you add, are refused outright.
* Backup files carry random names and download through a nonce-checked endpoint.
* A site that never activated a license no longer gets a grace period.
* Prompt-injection containment: after a turn reads third-party text, writes in that turn ask first.

**Data safety**

* The Draft Sandbox no longer corrupts Elementor pages, and publishing copies only builder data so other plugins' fields on the live page are kept.
* Find and replace reaches Elementor and other builder content, previews by default and records one undoable change per page.
* Backup chunks page on the primary key, so rows are not duplicated or skipped.
* Reading a large page no longer loops.

**Scheduling and tasks**

* Scheduled runs that write always stage changes for review.
* Scheduled agent recipes now run, and emails report real counts with a review link.
* Chunked runs get one request per chunk on sites without Action Scheduler.
* Backups use only verified provider triggers and fall back to a database-only download, saying so.
* Alt text uses the image when the model supports vision.
* Staged changes expire after 14 days; a monthly token limit can stand scheduled runs down.

**Reliability**

* Turns are serialised per conversation, so two tabs cannot interleave.
* Provider errors show plain-language messages; rate limits retry once and long conversations retry on a shorter history.
* Page caches are purged after Woo, media and forms changes.
* Cost estimates no longer use invented prices; with no price on file, only token counts are shown.
* Whole-page builds go through the Draft Sandbox.

**Housekeeping**

* Uninstall removes Task and skill posts, scheduled actions, backup folders and notice flags. Personal-data export includes conversation transcripts.
* A translation template is included.
* `THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt` lists every bundled package and its licence.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.3techagency.com/changelog/readme.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
